Adult Seminars:
- We are not teaching martial arts in a traditional sense, but rather a practical approach to personal safety with an emphasis on detecting and diffusing potentially dangerous situations before a physical response is warranted. If there is no other recourse, and you need to physically defend yourself, our program progressively teaches easy to learn, retainable, and practical techniques-not the television, and Hollywood choreography we so often see. It is better to learn with repetitive practice and become adept at executing a select few general principles effectively, than it is to be introduced to a plethora of techniques, and not able to utilize any of them. All physical actions are gross motor movements learned through repetition. Therefore, a complete novice without any previous training, will still become functional in a short period of time. "What you learn in the afternoon, must work for you that evening in the parking lot".
College Bound Young Adults/New College Graduates Entering the Workforce:
- When checking off the items you need for college, such as room, board, and books, did you check off "Awareness and Self-Defense? This program combines practical self-defense techniques with critical safety education. This course isn't just an activity, it's a critical investment in student safety and empowerment. A simple two-hour seminar will bring to life the dangers of being on your own in a new environment, and away from the comfort and safety of home. This program is an interactive class that is both informative and physical. Students will leave better prepared to defend themselves either through a heightened situational awareness skillset, more effective verbal/non-verbal communication skills, and as a last resort, practical physical self-defense. The notion that "It will never happen to me", or "It can't happen here" is a naïve thought process held by much of the public, especially those who live in a "safe" neighborhood.
Mother/Daughter Workshops:
- This seminar was developed specifically for the high school Coed and their mother. We conducted several workshops where women brought their teenage daughters, and the response was amazing. The mothers are very serious about teaching their daughters to be safe and they have the maturity and experience to encourage their daughters effectively.
Corporate Safety and Self-Defense Programs:
- More and more companies of all sizes are hosting self-defense/ personal safety workshops to provide a much-needed benefit to their employees and staff as part of their "Wellness Programs"
